The future has finally arrived, and it entered the party in style. Electric vehicles have been a long-time coming now, and with new technologies being released to the public on a daily basis, they're bound to become your main daily drivers sooner or later. Genesis not only recognizes that with their Genesis X concept, but took it a step further on the design and functionality of every nook and cranny of the vehicle. The 2021 Genesis X concept car from Hyundai is more than a premium vehicle, its pure, raw, technologically advanced performance at your fingertips.

Exterior & Interior Design

It would be almost impossible not to notice the design of the Genesis X if it were to drive past you. With a coupe body shape, its slender and deep curves wrap around the vehicle, giving the headlights all the way to the bumper a modern, "futuristic" feel that never seems to die off.

A "shield-shaped" crest grille perfectly intertwines with the front two-line headlights, which also happens to creep onto the side paneling of the vehicle, creating an unusual but much-loved side-light concept. Double layered bumpers have also been introduced, making the back of the Genesis X protrude in all the right angles to show off its true beauty. Metal, glass molding insinuates the wrap-around light design and stands out in terms of window designs compared to other Genesis vehicles. A simple & easy-to-use charging port is quickly accessible with a smooth slide-out hinge and high-tech looking two-line design theme that is so apparent throughout the vehicle's exterior.

The interior is where things get interesting with Genesis' new concept vehicle this year. During the design of all this, Genesis made a big focus on creating what they are calling a "driver-focused cockpit." This design choice immerses the driver with a flexible touchscreen display spanning around the driver's seat. Slim, indirect air vents perfectly seam with the window moulding and two-line theme to perfectly match the beauty of its exterior curves and shape.

The center console features a "floating dashboard" aesthetic that makes the center speakers and leather stitching encapsulate other passengers with a roomy and pleasing shape.

One of the most exciting features for the interior is a new idea for Genesis' "crystal sphere" knob. The control knob is a Genesis exclusive rotatable SBW (Shift-By-Wire) device that visually indicates the On & Off status of the vehicle. When parked, it is a beautifully crafted crystal displaying a beautifully lit-up line design. Once the vehicle is on the move, it rotates into a drive selector with options to change the drive mode.

Power & Performance

Many standard features are soon to be introduced along with a slew of other new features that are sure to turn heads. In many high-end vehicles made by Genesis, standard and helpful features like a touch screen with Apple CarPlay integration, blind-spot & lan departure assistance, automatica parking, and much more are bound to be integrated.

It's a brand new electric vehicle concept that has yet to even see production as of the day writing this. So it makes sense that limited information has been shared so far. However, the 2021 Genesis X Concept is, so far, looking to become a promising EV coupe for those who are ready for the future! As more information is released on the range, battery, safety, and performance of the vehicle, we will release them to you here!
